Thanks to L3HARRIS for Giving Back

The staff of L3HARRIS in Anaheim came together for an employee giving campaign, designating the Anaheim Community Foundation as one of their charities. Between employee fundraising and a matching gift from L3HARRIS, they donated $3,432 to support the work of ACF. We applaud you for your generosity.

This past December, we hosted a day of service at the Anaheim Hive with ACF, Samueli Foundation, Love Anaheim, and our Hive partners. Together with the YMCA, Ducks Foundation, Visit Anaheim, Councilmember Denise Barnes, and other volunteers, we put our hearts into action.

Here’s the breakdown: 35 food bags, 50 hygiene kits, and 25 stress kits with Love Anaheim; 36 encouragement soccer balls with Pure Game; 9 survivor prayer blankets with Survivor2Leader; 55 volunteers bags and 400 appreciation buttons with KidHealthy; and 28 encouragement cards with Cancer Kinship. Thanks Disneyland Resort for providing 100 bags.

We plan on doing more serve days in 2020, so stay tuned how you can get involved

Irv Pickler Remembered

Longtime Anaheim Community Foundation board member, Irv Pickler, passed away this week at age 98.

His service to Anaheim and our country is truly inspiring. He was a parent, husband, World War II veteran, Anaheim city council member, community volunteer, and so many other things to so many people.

In 2015, the ACF board of directors unanimously named Irv Pickler “Board Member Emeritus.” Irv Pickler’s lifelong efforts to make Anaheim a great place to live, learn, work, and play will never be forgotten.

The Pickler family asks that donations in honor of Irv Pickler go to the Anaheim Community Foundation. Please visit our donation page and type in “Irv Picker” in the PayPal donation form: anaheimcf.org/donate

2019 Volunteer Recognition

For 35 years, the Anaheim Community Foundation has embraced the power of volunteerism and giving back to enrich the lives of Anaheim residents. On March 13, hundreds of volunteers were recognized at the 2019 Anaheim Volunteer Recognition Luncheon, held at the City National Grove.

KTLA’s Henry DiCarlo emceed the event, while the Anaheim Ballet brought the theme “Volunteers are Anaheim’s Royalty” to life through a captivating dance performance.

ACF was proud to be recognized among the many deserving individuals and organizations. From everyone at ACF, we offer sincere thanks to all of our Anaheim volunteers and generous events sponsors.
