Through partnerships and convenings with City of Anaheim Community Services and Library Department, Anaheim Community Foundation was able to provide grant funding to support the creation of a Mobile Family Resource Center, to reach neighborhoods severely impacted by COVID-19. Samueli Foundation via the Anaheim Community Foundation awarded Community Action Partnership of Orange County (CAP OC) a $100K grant to operate the Mobile Family Resource Center which will visit 16 high demand for service neighborhoods in Anaheim.

The Mobile Family Resource Center program consisted of the following services, in collaboration with:

–Community Action Partnership Orange County (CAP OC), a nonprofit that seeks to end poverty by stabilizing, sustaining and empowering its community through various programs and services, is also participating by working alongside City of Anaheim Community Services Department by adding professional case managers and outreach coordinators on hand to facilitate, as well as provide food, books and financial hardship resources.

–The Anaheim Public Library (Bookmobile) serves as the anchor for the Mobile FRC by providing free Wi-Fi to allow city case managers and residents to connect to online resource portals and explore assistance program options. Community Services, Anaheim Police, Anaheim Fire and Rescue, Public Utilities, Workforce Development and nonprofit partners are also available on-site. In addition, the Bookmobile promotes literacy and learning opportunities to youth and residents by providing regular library services and supporting the distribution of information services at each stop.
